Academy of Champions: Soccer

There is a new game for Nintendo Wii that will surely arouse the interest of young gamers who also have a thing for sports. Ubisoft just published a game called the “Academy of Champions: Soccer” which, as the name states, is centered on playing soccer in the school of BrightfieldAcademy.

Brightfield Academy is the main setting of the game. This was designed to be a dream arena for soccer players. The place consists of wonderful animation and graphics, unbelievable visual effects, and awesome characters to play with. Plus, you get to be coached by the best soccer players known of all time. Pelé, the worldwide soccer legend, and Mia Hamm, the best US soccer player ever known are your mentors and teammates in the game. Pelé is the headmaster of BrightfieldAcademy.

As you start with the game, you will have to choose your own players (male or female) and afterwards you shall name them. Your team will be called the Mighty Five simply because soccer is five-on-five. However, though you have created all the players, you still have the freedom to change players by recruiting players from other teams. Recruiting is rather easy; by just clicking on the player’s face, he or she can join your team right away.

• The Academy of Champions is not just wholly about the soccer game. Aside from the soccer game itself, it has 20 mini-games (involving goalkeeping, shooting, passing and tackles), test taking and conversation with classmates.

This game is actually a game for kids of all ages. The pickup-and-play controls are easy to manipulate that is why kids won’t have a hard time learning how to play the game. As a player gets immersed in the game, he or she can upgrade skills and purchase better equipments to enhance team performance.

What is more engrossing is the story-driven experience you will get from this game. Along with the wonderful setting Brightfield Academy lets you experience, you will also encounter a progressive game by developing skills as you encounter and try to defeat the evil opponent Scythemore Academy. The game also allows multiplayers so you can enjoy playing with a friend–make him an ally or an opponent in this game.

Another exciting part in the Academy of Champions is the privilege to unlock famous video game characters such as Raving Rabbids, Sam Fisher, Altair, the Prince of Persia, and Rayman who actually emerge still as kids! You can play with them as you unlock each.
